Oppenheim's Herrenberg

In the area of Oppenheim’s Herrenberg, the domain manages 4,5 ha. The center spot of the slope is aligned against a south-southeast with a slope descension of 30%.

Oppenheim’s Herrenberg comprises out of ca. 30 Million year old oceanic deposits. They are very calcareous sediments with sandy and argillaceous enclosures. It is typical for constant erosion of the surface due to the stark gradient. Good water supply and high nutritional value help characterize the soil.

These are optimal conditions for the planted varieties: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Silvaner. The wine develops slowly and has a great ripening potential.
